Count Guesser

Image Count Guesser is a quick counting puzzle. Each round picks one kind of icon for the whole sky โ€” stars, sparkles, hearts, moons, flowers, gems, bubbles, or leaves โ€” drawn as crisp shapes on the canvas. Brightness varies: some icons glow more than others, but you still count every one. Totals range from moderate groups up to busy fields (around 10โ€“52). After ~three seconds the sky clears and four numbered squares appear; tap the total you counted.

How a round flows

  1. Look. Icons appear on the night sky while a timer counts down (~3 seconds).
  2. Count. Same shape theme for all items; ignore brightness for the total โ€” count each glyph once.
  3. Choose. A 2ร—2 grid shows four numbers immediately. Tap the match.
  4. Feedback. Green = correct cell; red = your wrong pick. Streak updates.
  5. Next round picks a new random shape theme and a fresh count.

Why it stays fair

  • Wrong answers cluster near the real total so guesses stay meaningful at high counts.
  • One shape per round โ€” you are never mixing apples and oranges on the same memorize screen.
  • Numbers stay visible on all four choices from the start of the choose phase.

Tips

  • On big fields, scan in stripes or clusters instead of one-by-one if that feels faster.
  • Bright sparkles draw the eye first โ€” donโ€™t stop counting when youโ€™ve only noticed those.
  • Use almost the full timer when the field feels crowded.

Quick checklist

  • I counted every icon, not only the brightest.
  • I matched the on-screen shape name in the status text (stars vs hearts vs gemsโ€ฆ).
  • After a miss, I compare my gut estimate to the revealed answer before Next round.
