Nuclear Reactor Game

How Nuclear Reactors Work

Nuclear reactors are amazing machines that generate electricity using the power of atoms. Unlike power plants that burn coal or gas, nuclear reactors use a process called nuclear fission.

The Process

  1. Uranium atoms split when hit by neutrons, releasing energy as heat
  2. This heat is used to create steam from water
  3. The steam spins turbines connected to generators
  4. The spinning generators produce electricity

Safety Systems

  • Control rods absorb neutrons to slow or stop reactions
  • Cooling systems prevent overheating
  • Multiple backup safety measures
  • Containment buildings protect surroundings

In this game, you'll control a simulated nuclear reactor. Start the reaction and then quickly deploy cooling agents to prevent overheating. Can you maintain the balance?

How to Play

  1. Click to start the nuclear reaction
  2. Click rapidly to deploy cooling agents
  3. Faster clicks = more cooling agents!
  4. Keep the temperature under control
  5. Prevent reactor meltdown!
